Move to Seville: Bullfighting, Flamenco and Don Juan

Seville, like the rest of Spain, possesses a unique advantage for the foreign real estate investor for the fact that any foreigner can own a property in his name regardless of the citizenship. Seville offers a wholesome exhilarating experience emanating from its great historical background, and vibrant citizens.

Seville - the administrative capital of Andalucia - offers a good deal of sunshine for people here as the weather is characterized by very hot summers from June to September with almost no rain. The daily range of temperature averages at to 40ºC and at night it dips to 18ºC. Even the winters have sunny and warm days with temperatures ranging between 20ºC during the day and 10ºC during the night.

Being the home of Spanish bullfighting, Seville attracts people from all parts of the planet. It is also the land of Figaro and Flamenco music. The legendary Don Juan was born here and started his operations from Seville.

The historical strength and richness makes Seville more appealing for property seekers. Barrio Santa Cruz is the historical hub of the city. The Cathedral, minaret of La Giralda, the Moorish style Alcazar palace, the Archivo de Indias, Archiepiscopal Palais are all located in a single square. There are more historical monuments scattered around here like churches of Hospicio de los Venerables and Iglesia de Santa Maria la Blanca.

Situated along the river Guadalquivir, Seville houses the Real Fábrica de Tabacos, the old tobacco factory where the famous opera actor Carmen once worked. The Bridge of Triana across the river takes one to traditional Barrio de Triana. The other landmarks of Seville are the Park of Maria Luisa named after Infanta Maria Luisa and the bullring, Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza.

There is a new side to Seville that has the Maestranza Theater, Cartuja Auditorium and the Congress Palace. New bridges like the Puente del V Centenario, Pasarela de la Cartuja, Puente de las Delicias and Puente de Chapina have been built here.

The spirit and vitality of the people adds to the character of the city. In fact, the city comes alive at the religious festival of Semana Santa where a lively procession marches through the city. Then there is Feria de Abril which is a week-long festivity where men ride on horses and women dance in colorful gypsy dresses.

'Tapas', a sort of mini dish, is the characteristic gastronomical delight for the not so hungry. There are numerous recipes of this dish. Jerez (sherry), Manzanilla and Montilla - the local wines complement Tapas. The desserts are mainly prepared with honey or wines like Torrijas and Llemas de San Leandro.
