The property and real estate in Figueres is influenced by its location at the north east border of Spain. With close proximity to France it hobnobs with travelers entering and leaving Spain. It is the capital of Alt Empordà County and a major cultural and commercial center of Costa Brava, Spain.
The city is well connected by a rail system and possesses an international bus station. One can get trains and buses to the different cities of Europe. With a lot of sunshine, Figueres is generally hot in summers and mildly cool in winters.


The three Museums are the famous landmarks of Figueres. These museums contain materials that provide a great insight into cultural heritage of Figueres. Salvador Dali the great surrealist artist was born in Figueres and Dali Theatre-Museum was designed by him to give the visitors a total experience of his world of art. The Toy Museum of Catalonia has a fantastic collection of about 4000 toys. Models, animated life forms miniature theatre sets, etc. are displayed, which not only fascinate the children but also force the adults to traverse down their memory lanes of childhood. The last in the trio is the Museum of the Empordà, which exhibits city's art and cultural heritage.
There are many monuments exhibiting the ecclesiastic architecture. Church of Sant Pau de la Calçada, Church of Sant Pere, Chapel of Sant Sebastià, Capuchin Monastery are the major landmarks of Figueres. The Sant Ferran Castle, the high mark of the city, is situated atop a hill and was built in the 18th century. It is a massive military fortress sprawling 32 hectares. Its colossal size makes it one of the largest fortresses in Europe.
The town is replete with small shops and eateries. The cuisine here is a distinct mix of ingredients both from the sea and the mountains. Fish is served boiled, baked, grilled or in sauce. Chicken or rabbit with spiny lobster and beef with vegetables, wild mushrooms or fruits are some other recipes. One can savor the local wines and cavas with labels of Ampurdin-Costa Brava Denomination of Origin. Sweet wines, "novell" (rosa) wine, as well as and young reds are some of the wines you will get in Figueres.
