Catalunya, with its capital city as Barcelona, is one of the regions in Spain that lies on the Mediterranean coast. Its coast has two sides with completely distinguished features - one side is covered by cliffs and coves while the other has in store some of the most wonderful beaches of Spain.
The major attraction for people of Catalunya along the coast is Costa Brava - a scenic and developed area with residences. Here, you experience the best of nature, from diverse mountain ranges to rapid rivers to lush valleys.
Catalunya's festivals are extremely popular and bind its citizens together. Correfocs, in which devils play around with fire and the people, is perhaps the most interesting of all the festive activities. These vivacious devils dance to the tambourine and the traditional gralla amidst fireworks. On 23 April is celebrated the Saint Jordi. On this day, men present roses to women, and the whole of Catalunya is filled with book stands and flower stands.
As a tourist, you simply cannot afford to miss the festivals of colles castelleres, during which humans form spectacular towers. In this traditional festival, thousands of people gather to see human towers that are up to ten people high. For music lovers, the major attraction is the unique music of the cobles, a band that plays sardanes to produce soothing music.

People of Catalunya, like all Spanish, are great football fans, and why not? They are proud of their fabulous football club FC Barcelona, which boasts of the FIFA player of the year 2004 Ronaldinho and other superstars.
The whole of Catalunya is connected by rail network, while Barcelona and Tarragona are two most significant seaports of Catalunya due to the trade that happens here. Barcelona, Girona and Reus are home to the most important airports of Catalunya.
Catalunya is a heaven for food lovers, as the Catalan cuisine includes the exotic flavors of the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean region provides wonderful ingredients such as fresh vegetables, wheat products, olive oils, wines and more. You will savor the delicacies of Catalunya for hours after having them. You can also find a lot of Italy in Spain as Catalans are extremely fond of making and eating pastas.

Catalunya is certainly a place for people who love historical monuments and museums. Park Guell in Barcelona - a significant art nouveau work - is one of the many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Catalonia.
Catalunya has become the most attractive haven for tourists as well as investors in Spain. It has become almost impossible to find a hotel accommodation on the weekends, especially if your visit coincides with any of the famous festivals.
Unsurprisingly, Catalunya has a huge demand for real estate. Also, there is also a huge demand for commercial real estate - hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, bakeries, coffee shops and discotheques. And why not? Where else will you find a conglomeration of traditional customs & modern lifestyle and glorious landscapes & high-tech constructions. A huge demand has arisen for plots for construction of houses as well.
